We asked Unite members what was important to them about their terms and conditions at the FCA and what they wanted Unite to work to improve.
We got replies from 179 members. Here are some of the things they told us when we asked ‘What’s one thing you wanted to say to Nikhil Rathi?’
I’d like you to do the job and live off and care for your family for a year on the salary paid to our Reg B employees, excluding the usual bonus they would have had in the past, and tell us how that feels.
Place value on longstanding employees and the wealth of knowledge and experience they have to offer.
Do not reduce our pay. We work hard, we are experienced, and we bring value to the organisation and British economy.
You’re effectively giving us a pay cut. What is the encouragement to continuously work as hard as we do, when it’s not recognised or appreciated?
Please think about those with much lower salaries than you. A couple of thousand pounds a year makes a massive difference to them.
It’s not right to expect us to work harder for less pay.
All the rhetoric about valuing staff is absolutely not reflected in the way that staff are being treated in cutting pay and increasing workloads.
People work hard do not get the recognition and we should not separate London/Edinburgh, particularly those in long term service. Value staff.
Your stance and actions have done nothing to support and value your staff who have worked in a professional and dedicated manner to maintain and advance the FCA in extremely difficult circumstances.
There are a lot of people within the organisation that aren’t on high pay. The bonus was highly material to their circumstances.
May your staff feel valued not replaceable.
If you think the offer is fair and reasonable recognise the union and negotiate fairly and reasonably.
